Victory Cottage Terms and Conditions 2023

1. Victory Cottage.

Victory Cottage is a family-run self-catering cottage. In the past we rented our property locally, but in 2022 we decided to branch-out into providing self-catered accommodation for visitors to the Islands. Our aim is to provide an accommodation with high standards of comfort, cleanliness, and convenience. We want our guests to feel at home, in a warm, clean, comfortable and relaxing environment, with comfortable beds, beautiful views, and restaurants and shops just a few minutes walk away. If anything in the property is broken or faulty, or does not meet our high standards, please let us know as soon as possible.

2. Booking Victory Cottage

2.1 Booking. When you book with Victory Cottage you are agreeing to pay all charges for your booking, which include the nightly rate, cleaning fee, and any other charges as specified when booking. You are also agreeing to pay for any additional services, such as airport transfers and addition internet provision. You are also agreeing that Victory Cottage may charge in order to be recompensed for damages, for items/furniture/fittings etc damaged or stolen (beyond normal wear and tear), for maintenance required due to the tenants’ actions and for any additional cleaning fees necessary if the property is left in an unacceptable state. 

When you place a booking with Victory Cottage, you will be subject to, and responsible for complying with, all terms of the Reservation, including without limitation, the cancellation policy and any other rules, standards, policies, or requirements identified on the Guest Information Booklet.

2.2 Accommodation Reservations. Your Reservation is a limited license to enter, occupy, and use the Accommodation. The Host retains the right to re-enter the Accommodation during your stay, to the extent: (i) it is reasonably necessary, (ii) consistent with applicable law. If you stay past checkout, the Host has the right to make you leave in a manner consistent with applicable law, including by imposing reasonable overstay penalties. You may not exceed the maximum number of allowed Guests.

2.3 Payment Schedule. To secure your booking, a Deposit will be charged by the Host. The deposit is equivalent to 50% of the total cost unless stated otherwise. The outstanding balance is due on the first day of your stay, unless stated otherwise by the Host.

3. Cancellation policy

3.1 Cancellations, Travel Issues, and Refunds. If you wish to cancel or amend your reservation, the following cancellation policy will apply:

Cancel 31 days or more before the commencement of your booking for a full refund.

Cancel within the 30 days immediately preceding the commencement of your booking to pay the value of the deposit.

Cancelling after your booking has commenced will incur a charge to the full value of your stay, including a cleaning charge.

For longer term bookings, over 30 days, different terms will apply, which will be specified at the time of booking.

3.1.a Extenuating Circumstances If your flight is cancelled into the Falkland Islands, either the LAN flight from Punta Arenas, or the Airbridge from Brize Norton, we will refund your deposit.

4. Your Responsibilities and Assumption of Risk.

4.1 Your Responsibilities. You are responsible and liable for your own acts and omissions and are also responsible for the acts and omissions of anyone else that you invite into Victory Cottage. For example, this means: (i) you are responsible for leaving the Accommodation (and related personal property) in the condition it was in when you arrived, (ii) you are responsible for paying all reasonable amounts necessary to cover damage that you, your guest(s) cause to the cottage and (iii) you must act with integrity, treat others with respect, and comply with applicable laws at all times. If you are booking for an additional guest who is a minor or if you bring a minor, you must be legally authorized to act on behalf of the minor and you are solely responsible for the supervision of that minor.

4.2 Safety for Children. Children are very welcome at Victory Cottage. Please be aware however, there are a number of features in the cottage that are a high-risk for small children and toddlers.

• The bedrooms are both upstairs, there is no stair gate
• Heavy furniture has not been attached to walls
• The window on the first floor in the double bedroom opens very close to the floor.
• There are a number of blinds, with hanging cords in the property.

Due to these features, please carefully assess the safety and suitability of the property for your children.
